Fall will soon set in. This wonderful season brings with it a rainbow of colors and comfort. The leaves change from green to beautiful oranges, yellows and reds. A sense of peace surrounds us when we admire the foliage.
We can relax with the soothing taste of hot chocolate on a chilly afternoon, the feeling of a soft afghan against our arms and a good book. The simple things in life comfort us.
Animals too, offer peace. If you have a cat, maybe you’ve noticed how hard it is to walk past the furry feline without touching it? There is comfort in petting a cat on the head or stroking its fur. My Ollie Boo is a spoiled baby. He likes his stuffed mouse, treats and lying on the computer desk sleeping. One day, I realized how often I pause, touch his long silky fur and feel the sense of peace. With this year’s turmoil, peace has often played hide and seek.
No one may feel as I, but these past months have been challenging. I pray for our country.
I pray we’ll get back to normal and not lose our liberties.
One thing, which makes us great, is free will, when that is gone, pride leaves, so does the passion for life. I pray our nation never takes on unrealistic conditions, in the name of ‘normal.’
Since March, I’ve needed to stand strong to keep from giving into sadness, which tries to shadow me from time to time. Many days comfort comes through God’s Holy Word.
I hope the below verses cover you with peace as well.
“Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” Proverbs 30:5
“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22(KJV)
“The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” Psalm 9:9
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13
